Dear Parents,

We are glad to inform you that Educational Initiatives (EI) (an Ahmedabad – based Research Organization) founded by a group of IIM – Ahmedabad alumni is conducting a diagnostic skill based assessment – ASSET. Our school is planning once more to participate in ASSET as it would give a detailed feedback about your child’s learning strengths and weaknesses from year to year. We strongly recommend that all students participate in this assessment that would empower us to consolidate strength areas and improve on specific areas of weakness and misconceptions (common to almost all children).

The test is objective: multiple-choice type and the duration is between 45 minutes to an hour for each subject. No preparation is required as the tests are based on what has already been taught in the classroom. The fee of the test is Rs. 450/- for English, Mathematics, Science. The test will be conducted on August 4, 2011 in the school during school hours. Those who wish to participate in this test are required to fill the tear –off–slip given below and give it to the class teacher with Rs 450/- in an envelope on July 06, 2011.

It is also worth noting that Class 7 students scoring the 95th percentile or higher in the ASSET Mathematics, Science and English tests, would be eligible to participate in the Duke TIP India Talent Search. This talent search program is offered by Duke University, one of the top 10 universities in the US, in partnership with ASSET only. The Duke Talent Identification Program is an education program, for gifted students, being conducted in USA for past 30 years and for the last 2 years in India. Its purpose is to identify gifted students and provide them with educational resources for them to reach their full potential. More information is available on the Duke TIP website at www.tip.duke.edu/india.Please visit www.ei-india.com for more information on how ASSET is helping children and schools across the country. We do look forward to your continued support towards the initiatives taken by the school in helping our children learn better.

Yours truly,

Principal
